Meet the multifaceted Bombshell who works hard and plays hard with passion.
SKYN sat down with the diverse beauty who's taking Miami by storm.
SKYN: Zahra, it's great to finally meet you! Thanks so much for taking the time to chat with us here in Miami! Are you from the area originally? Is this where you grew up?
ZE: I grew up in California, the Bay Area.
SKYN: Oh wow - that's not Miami at all! Wild. Well were certainly glad you found your way here. Your beauty and confidence fit in perfectly with the Miami scene. Were you always comfortable in your own skin and in front of the camera?
ZE: I think being comfortable in my own skin is a process. We as people and especially as women, are our worst critics. I actually hate even looking at my pictures as I'm shooting. As far as being comfortable in front of the camera, It depends on the nature of the shoot. And to be quite frank, it really doesn't matter. I just have to suck it up and do my best.
SKYN: Ha, well you certainly suck it up well, because we honestly can't see anything but total confident radiance. You capture so well, but we totally know what you're talking about with the whole concept of us being our own worst critics. Definitely a universal factor for sure.
SKYN: You seem to have some great perspective, do you have any tips for aspiring new models in the industry?
ZE: It's a very negative, cut throat industry, make sure you have tough skin. It's never personal no matter how it feels. Not all gigs are meant for you. Don't ever take no for an answer. Ask questions and ask many people.
SKYN: Love that thought of "Not all gigs are meant for you". That is definitely so true, and the concept of constantly asking questions is absolutely brilliant advice. You don't know what you don't know and you'll never know it until you ask. So now that we know that, can we ask if you weren’t a model, what career would you pursue?
ZE: I'm not really sure. I'm doing exactly what I want to do. However my dream job would be to travel the world doing humanitarian work during the day and then going to the hottest spots at night and having fun!
SKYN: Sounds like quite the dream, and we're sure it's not that far off!
SKYN: Give us 3 items that you haven't yet ticked off your bucket list.
An awesome Europe trip
Starting my non profit
SKYN: Ha, amazing. The perfect mix of inspirational and fun. Sounds like you've got some pretty amazing milestones ahead of you.
SKYN: Did you have any mentors who really helped mold and guide you?
ZE: Not really, I bounce things off a few people that I value in the industry. I'm kind of just figuring it out on my own, guess it will make for a better story in the end.
SKYN: Whats the craziest thing you've done over the last couple years?
ZE: Depends on what you consider crazy. Can't think of something I want the world to know ;)
SKYN: Alright Zahra, tell us. Do you have a WTF moment at shoot?
ZE: In Trinidad people would literally come right in front of the camera during a shoot and want to talk and take pictures, like hello I'm trying to work! However, I love my fans.
SKYN: Ha, that's hilarious! Ok, now what about best/worst thing about about using instagram/social media to boost your career?
ZE: The best thing is you can really build yourself and get your name out there. The worst thing is I don't want to be an "Instagram model" and all the disgusting DMs.
SKYN: Ha, sigh, oh the DMS. Yeah, the DMs are probably a bit much. What about the comments? Do you read the comments?
ZE: I read a lot of them, almost all of them. But my PR says I shouldn't.
SKYN: Tell us something random about yourself that most people don't know.
ZE: I used to fix airplanes.
SKYN: Woah, that's dope! Talk about serious beauty AND brains. Actually unreal.
SKYN: What are some of the biggest revelations you've discovered through modelling?
ZE: It's not as simple or easy as it looks. Guys want to ride the wave just as much as women that are looking for a "come up".
SKYN: True, true.
SKYN: Ok thinking back. What's your best memory of the last year?
ZE: My trip to Africa. Honestly last year was full of travel and good times but really Africa was the highlight.
SKYN: That's amazing. Sounds like 2016 was definitely memorable. Any big goals/plans for 2017?
ZE: Of course I have big plans/goals, but bosses move in silence ;)
