1. What inspired you to get into this industry?
It's kind of always been something I've secretly dreamed about. Of course, where I'm from it wasn't considered realistic. Small towns, small minds. I decided I wanted to inspire other people and prove you don't have to be a product of your environment. The sky really is the limit and you can achieve anything you put your mind to.
2. How long have you been modeling?
I've been a promotional model since I was 21, I just really got into print modeling about a year ago and I absolutely love it.
3. Who is your favorite model?
Actually, Michelle Lewin was the one who is the first models who inspired me to chase after my dreams. Not only is she beautiful, but she's relatable. She seems like such an amazing person.
4. Were you always comfortable in your own skin and in front of the camera?
I wasn't always happy with my body, but I was always comfortable in my own skin and definitely believe I was born to be I front of the camera. I knew I was made for the spotlight from my first time on stage in my 5th grade talent show. When you know, you know, right?
5. Did you have any mentors who really helped mold and guide you?
Unfortunately I didn't have any mentors or anyone to help push me in the right direction when I decided I was really going to put myself out there. Everything I have accomplished has come from research, trial, and error. That's okay though, there's nothing wrong with being self made. It almost makes your successes that much better knowing you did it for yourself and you don't owe anyone anything.
6. Do you have any tips for aspiring models in the industry?
Step out of your comfort zone. You never know what you're capable of until you try. Do whatever challenges you and allows you to grow as a model and don't worry about what anyone thinks of it.
7. Do you have a WTF moment at a shoot?
My shoots are always fun and eventful to say the least but there never been and bad WTF moments except for one. I traveled to shoot with a photographer with another model friend of mine. We had just met him for the first time, we were outside on location and he dropped his camera. Like, straight up broke it completely before we even started shooting. Luckily he had back up though and it wasn't a complete lost cause.++
8. What are some of the biggest revelations you've discovered through modelling?
To my surprise, the industry isn't as scary as people make it out to be. It's a beautiful thing to me able to meet, connect with and surround yourself with like minded people. That's when the magic happens.
9. Tell us something random about yourself.
That depends one what you consider random. Something not a lot of people know is that I've also always wanted to be a forensic pathologist. I love all things gross and creepy, the more gore the better. I'm also a major nerd for the show Supernatural, 100% fan girl with no shame.
10. What are you most proud of?
I'm proud of a lot of things but I think I'm most proud of my will power. If there's one thing people who truly know me will describe me as, it's strong. If I set my mind to something, I do it. I don't let anything get in my way. I've been through a lot in my life and not many are able to keep pushing through those types of experiences with a smile on their face. I'm also extremely proud of my little family. I am many things, but my favorite thing by far is being a mom.
11. When it's all said and done, what do you want to be remembered as?
An inspiration. I really want to touch the lives of others. Whether it be big or small, I want to leave an impact. Inspire people to believe in themselves, chase their dreams, or just to not give up on whatever it is the want to achieve in life.
