1. What inspired you to get into this industry?
I've always been told at a young age to model but I never pursued it at the time because I felt I wasn't a tall white skinny girl so they wouldn't have really given me the time of day. But as I got older I started loving to do my makeup and getting more into fashion, it all seemed so fun to me.
Also living in a town with just white girls everywhere I was always viewed differently I thought straightening my hair and trying to look like them I would fit in more, but one day I just decided I wanted to stand out I want to embrace my big curly hair and where the clothes I want to wear, I want to be more confident and loving how unique I look in a town where no one else looks like me. That's when I got inspired.
2. How long have you been modeling?
I haven't been modelling too long I did a little bit when I was 13 and I started up again when I was 19.
3. Who is your favorite model?
My favourite model is hands down Diana Versa I love everything that she stands for and knowing she's only a year older than me and she's being seen on billboards in Time Square is amazing I would love to have that someday.
4. Were you always comfortable in your own skin and in front of the camera?
I was not comfortable at all in the beginning and I'm still learning to love myself and embrace the skin I'm in. It's definitely something I have to work on moving forward but since it was my first time it was pretty hard for me.
5. Did you have any mentors who really helped mold and guide you?
No one mentored me or guided me to model I did that on my own!
6. Do you have any tips for aspiring models in the industry?
I'm sill a beginner in modelling but one tip is don't be shy in front of the camera because it shows, I struggled in the beginning with that because I'm still working on being more confident but you gotta feel yourself and know your beautiful, you have to tell yourself your that bitch.
7. Do you have a WTF moment at a shoot?
Yes it was my first photoshoot and I decided to do a bathing suit shoot and we were getting into the pictures and I was starting to be a lot more comfortable and it turns out I had a nip slip in the middle of the shoot ahaha that was definitely a wtf moment for me.
8. What are some of the biggest revelations you've discovered through modelling?
I mean I haven't really done big paying shoots so I'm not sure what those would be like, but I guess how tiring it is after a long day of taking pictures ahaha after my first shoot I was exhausted. But it was a lot of fun!
9. Tell us something random about yourself.
Not a lot of people know this, but I used to play tennis for 8 years.
10. What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of where I come from. I was born and raised in Jamaica but I moved here when I was 9, I miss being there all the time it's such a beautiful, carefree loving country and I'm proud to say that I am Jamaican.
11. When it's all said and done, what do you want to be remembered as?
I would love to be remembered as a positive uplifting person who also doesn't care what people have to say. Someone who builds women up and able to help young girls like myself start loving themselves more and being confident in the skin their in.
