SKYN: Jack, you're world renowned, but if I were to ask you, who are you?

JG: Nobody. Just a humble pirate seeking new horizons in creative life and imagination.

SKYN: Ha, great answer. What inspired you to get into this industry?

JG: It was completely by accident when a friend asked me to model with her for a romance novel book cover. My hair was flowing in the fake wind like Fabio, as my friends tease me about til this day.

SKYN: Oh man, what a start. And how long has it been since that day? How long would you say you've been modeling for?

JG: Since 2009 maybe. I think I started pretty late in my 20’s. But you know, we attract what we’re ready for.

SKYN: Absolutely. Now that you've been able to explore the industry a bit, do you have any models who you look up to or model your modeling after?

JG: I respect anyone that can bring something different and interesting to the job. Other than that its not something I pay close attention to except for friends i have in the industry. I’m more inspired by actors, artists, writers, and creators.

SKYN: All about the creatives. For sure. What about when it comes to the creatives who work with you on the daily? Do you have a favourite photographer?

JG: I have and endless list of favourite photographers. But the only lens Jedi’s that need to be listed here are the ones I’m thankful to have worked with over the years like Lane Doresy, Matt Barnes, Glenn MacKay, Nikki Ormerod, Tim Navis, Erwin Loewen, Clint Padilla, Tara Noelle, just to name a few.

SKYN: Wow - quite a list. I'm sure each was such an unreal experience. Did you have any mentors who really helped mold and guide you through other experiences as well?

JG: Besides my parents who have always been very supportive, I’ve always done my own thing and just trusted my instincts. Sometimes those instincts didn’t always turn out to be the right choices, but as my dad says, “If you’re not making mistakes, you’re not accomplishing anything.”

SKYN: Great words to live by. Ok, now that we know about that side of you, could you tell us something random about yourself.

JG: I take random pictures with strangers everywhere I travel and have built up a pretty humorous collection.

SKYN: Ha, that's hilarious. Besides being an expert traveler with a humorous photo collection, what are you most proud of?

JG: I haven’t accomplished it yet.

SKYN: Fair enough. Now even though you haven't done just that yet, you are absolutely someone who has accomplished so much in life. Do you have any tips for aspiring new models in the industry?

JG: Don’t worry about looks too much. Just be interesting and authentic. Don’t take modelling too seriously. Just use it as your cash cow while hammering out your true passions and talents. Stay humble and always call your mom.

SKYN: All about keeping mom number one. For sure. You've had quite the year - What are some of your best memories of 2015?

JG: I traveled a lot. Paris was great. New York. Los Angeles was amazing. Venice Beach and Malibu were always on my Bucket List. Driving down the Pacific Coast HWY next to the ocean while Pearl Jam (Even Flow) came on the radio was a shining moment.

SKYN: Jeeze. Pearl Jam, great driving tunes! Talking about crossing things off your bucket list, what are some of your goals for 2016?

JG: Acting has been a big focus this past year and I’m really seeing the work I’ve put in starting to pay off. 2016 will be when I can fully transition over full time. I’ve also been writing a lot of material to do stand up comedy. That's something I’ve always wanted to do just for the sake of actually doing it.

SKYN: Oh wow - that's dope. Well we definitely look forward to seeing some of your shows. And finally, when it's all over what do you want to be remembered as?

JG: When its all over it really won't matter because it’ll just be another beginning to something else. So don't remember me, just remember how I made you feel.
