
1. SUPREME COURT LEGALIZES GAY MARRIAGE
On July 26, 2015, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that it is legal for all Americans, no matter their gender or sexual orientation, to marry whoever they love. This was a huge victory for the American Gay Rights Movement.

2. PLAYBOY: NO MORE NUDITY
Since the sultry Marilyn Monroe went au natural for the first publication in the 1950’s, Playboy has been iconic for its bare-breasted women. Beginning March 2016, Playboy will discontinue nudity in its magazines since porn and pictures of naked women is so readily available online. With the world becoming increasingly more comfortable with nudity, the magazine is undergoing a new, fresh facelift. Say hello to the new Playboy in 2016, and the sexy pictorials of still the world’s sexiest women.

3. "CALL ME CAITLYN"
This will reign as one of the biggest headlines in tabloid history as well as a historic milestone for the LGBT community. Read all about former Olympian, Bruce Jenner, and his transformative journey into becoming the woman on the June issue of Vanity Fair. This was the year to be trans thanks to the strides Caitlyn as well as women and men alike have taken.

4. ESSENA O'NEILL - "SOCIAL MEDIA IS NOT REAL"
The gorgeous Australian model, Essena O’Neill, found herself fed up with the way social media portrays unrealistic lifestyles. She says, “It’s all an illusion,” and took to her account to reach her half a million of followers through a much needed wakeup call. IG is all about followers and likes and who has the sexiest, most-talked about photos. What goes on behind the scenes is what Essena felt the young girls who aspire to be like her needed to know.

5. AMY SCHUMER
Remember when she fake-fell in front of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian? Epic. Creating a placeholder for women in comedy, this outspoken gift from the female Gods has become an icon for sex talk. Schumer is basically the poster child for body image. As a young woman who doesn’t exactly look the Hollywood part, her newfound fame is empowering women who face body and confidence issues – and about time.

6. 50 SHADES OF GREY
This one speaks for itself. This book, and later movie, took the world by storm with its outlandish sex scenes. Everyone and their grandmother read this book and it’s safe to say it changed the way we read, write, and discuss sex forever. Plus, I’m pretty sure hardware stores specializing in ropes and cable ties everywhere benefited from this book release, so there’s that.

7. MILEY CYRUS
Pushing the envelope is putting it mildly. This pop sensation has stunned us with her social media, music videos, and outlandish behavior so much in 2015 that we’re basically desensitized at this point. Her most recent album release, Miley Cyrus And Her Dead Petz, is free and we haven’t seen that from a major artist in – well – ever.

8. ADDYI
You’re probably unfamiliar with this non-hormonal prescription pill used to treat Hypoactive (low) Sexual Desire Disorder in premenopausal women, and that’s because it’s the first of its kind. This is a milestone for women who face undesirable sexual issues. Think of it as an erectile dysfunction pill but for ladies and their lady parts.

9. SMART CONDOMS
Muaz Nawaz, Daanyaal Ali, and Chirag Shah, a group of 13 and 14-year-old students from London's Isaac Newton Academy, invented the most advanced condom design, ever. Named the S.T.EYE Condom, it uses a built-in indicator that changes to a different color depending on the bacteria or infection it detects. So without having to go through testing, this condom will detect harmful STI’s by glowing different colors - each color representative of a certain STI.

10. AMBER ROSE SLUT WALK
In October, The Amber Rose Foundation brought an amazing vision to fruition. In Los Angeles, Amber Rose walked alongside hundreds of thousands of participants with the core mission of uplifting, empowering, and enhancing the platform of women across the world. Donations support groups and organizations of women who have been subject to slut shaming, sexual assault, and societal double standards.
