AMSTERDAM'S FIRST ALL-AVOCADO RESTAURANT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND
By: Amanda Cubello
2016 was the blossoming period for the beloved superfruit– from avocado toast to guacamole, this healthy fat hit the spot – and here’s the best news you’re going to hear all week: this hot commodity is only becoming more celebrated in 2017. In fact, it may be one of the only foods on the menu in some places.
You heard me right, Europe is continuing the green vibe by opening the first ever, all-avocado restaurant, in South Amsterdam’s culture pot of De Pijp. Home to over 150 nationalities, this residential area is considered a foodies paradise.
The Avocado Show, is scheduled to open sometime next month and will feature, you guessed it, all snacks and meals containing the creamy zesty goodness we’ve grown to love (and also, maybe slightly, became obsessed with).
Avocado breakfast cake, sweet potato fries, and the much-anticipated avocado bun-burger (get ready to seductively wipe the corner of your girl’s mouth with this one) are just some of the items advertised on the restaurant’s Facebook page and Instagram.
You’ll be able to get your green fix for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even the midnight snack we secretly indulge in, at this soon-to-be urban café.
While The Avocado Show is still being tight-lipped about what’s on the full menu, they’ve made sure to let everyone know the avo-classics will be on the list. No worries, green smoothies and Insta-perfect avocado toast will be for the taking!
If you haven’t gotten on the avocado train, let me give you some reasons why you need this super food in your life. Below is a list of all the healthy goodness packed into just one of these green fruits:
- 20 different vitamins & minerals
- Heart healthy monounsaturated fatty acids
- More potassium than a banana
- 7 grams of fiber (27% of the recommended daily amount)
If that’s not enough, they can also help to relieve arthritis symptoms, prevent cancer, and drastically reduce risk of cataracts and macular degeneration.
Oh, they’ve also been proven to aid in weight loss for anyone looking to get a tighter stomach. Just throwing that out there.
All in just 160 calories, 2 grams of protein, and 15 grams of healthy fats per serving.
Can I get a side of avocado with that?
