1. What inspired you to get into this industry?
I remember at a young age I'd always tell myself that one day I was going to be a model. When I turned 16 I moved to the Dominican Republic and I started going to a modeling school. From that point on I fell in love with modeling and it turned into something that I am now very passionate of.
2. How long have you been modeling?
I've been modeling since I was 16 years old.
3. Who is your favorite model?
Abigail Ratchford, she's such a hottie
4. Were you always comfortable in your own skin and in front of the camera?
Honestly? Yes. Beauty to me has no limitations, no definition or boundaries. My unique features make me beautiful, exotic and different. Beauty is incomparable and that's what I love! Being imperfectly perfect!
5. Did you have any mentors who really helped mold and guide you?
Defiantly! My best friend Jamie Lynn Cheeks, who is a photographer here in Grand Rapids Michigan. She has helped me tremendously, not only with modeling but with expressing myself creatively. She was always down to shoot any crazy ideas I came up with and always there to help and support me.
6. Do you have any tips for aspiring models in the industry?
Yes! Be yourself! Follow your heart! Don't let ANYONE define your beauty but yourself! Love yourself before anyone and work with people who inspire you.
7. Do you have a WTF moment at a shoot?
Yes, this actually happened the other day. I was at a shoot modeling some handmade pieces for a clothing line and we were outside shooting. I had a bodysuit on and all of a sudden this random lady approached me taking pictures of me and talking about how we cannot be taking our product shots out in public. So we just ended up leaving (after we got the shot of course) and shooting in a really cool looking abandoned tennis court. Lol
8. What are some of the biggest revelations you've discovered through modelling?
The many different types of modeling there is ! Runway model, fitness model, high fashion model, hair model, glamour model, swimwear model, alternative model, lifestyle model, corporate model, spokesmodel. Honestly the list goes on and on.
9. Tell us something random about yourself.
I rollerblade and I'm a pretty good cook.
10. What are you most proud of?
Myself, because whenever I set a goal I keep working towards it until I achieve it. I never quit and I always put 100% effort in everything I do.
11. What makes you different?
Since starting my modeling career I've felt the heat. People will try and tell me what I can and cannot do with my body, basing their reasoning on how a woman should present/express herself. My body is my art, the canvas that I use to express my emotions, feelings and beauty. I feel, as a women, I'm expected to act a certain way. But I chose not to live in a box. I chose to step out of the boundaries of "what you can and can't do". I want my work to be looked at with an artistic eye before anything else. When people see my work I want them to see it how I see it, and I see art, confidence, boldness and freedom.
