Ever wondered what would happen if you mixed broadway with burlesque, splashed it with some wicked audio-visuals and topped it with a ruby red pair of heals?! Ruby Red Burlesque, that’s what!
Welcome to the world of Ruby Red Burlesque, a body-positive, sex-positive, perfect combination of everything homo and heterosexual all rolled into one. It’s got the confidence of Rhianna with the soul of Aretha Franklin, the wardrobe of Cher, and the backdrop of that old Wizard of Oz story you know and love, except this time, the Wizard gets turned on his head… and spanked.
Graced with the musical stylings and production of Cameron Walker Fox Revett, whose masterful skill is comparable only to that of the great Andrew Lloyd Webber, the show takes on a hypnotic feel as it tells a beautifully twisted story of Dorothy, her friends, and their journey to Oz. Utilizing the sultry and seductive medium of burlesque the audience is taken on a brilliantly witty journey throughacceptance, self discovery, indulgence, and empowerment.
With the stunningly beautiful Paige Murray playing Dorothy, and fellow casts members of every race, gender, and persuasion, the show makes a sexy, modern, diverse statement without having to say a word.
Some huge highlights from the night included Swarovski encrusted skin-tight outfits, epic dance moves, ridiculous pipes, and brilliant original songs such as Body of My Own written by Cameron Walker Fox Revett.
Overall this Concrete Vertigo Production absolutely slays.
