SKYN: What inspired you to get into this industry?
TJ: My inspiration to stay in this industry is more appealing than how I started. What made me want to continue in this field was the fact that my career became my passion. I love being a model, a host, a brand ambassador, a ring girl and an umbrella girl. I never get bored, life is like a new journey everyday!
SKYN: Those are phenomenal reasons to stay. How long have you been doing it all?
TJ: 4 years
SKYN: And after 4 years in the business, who would you say is your favorite model?
TJ: I never really had a favorite model, but if I chose someone who stuck out to me the most I would say Adriana Lima. She's absolutely gorgeous and is slaying the game!
SKYN: Couldn't agree more. How about photographers? Do you have a favourite photographer?
TJ: No comment, I've worked with so many talented photographers. I can't choose just one!
SKYN: Ha, totally fair. Alright, less about favorites and more about influences. Did you have any mentors who really helped mold and guide you?
TJ: Absolutely, my manager and publicist has guided with me and I've really grown up with her. She is amazing and I talk to her almost everyday, it's weird when I don't talk to her, haha. She has done so much for me and I look forward to see what the future has in store for us.
SKYN: That is so great to hear. It's actually the best when you've got great people like that in your corner. Ok, aside from being an optimist and a total romantic, tell us something random about yourself.
TJ: I consider myself a nomad. I rarely get homesick. Of course I love my family and friends, but I love to travel and meet new people. I've met so many people over the past few years, so when I travel I have friends all over the world. Truly a blessing!
SKYN: Great to hear. What about things that you've done that you're most proud of? What are you most proud of?
TJ: I would say the fact that I love myself, by that I mean that I respect myself. I try my best to not let people get the best of me. It's something I have developed over time, especially from being bullied in high school.
SKYN: Well you've definitely come a long way from that, and we're so glad that you did. You're doing phenomenal. Do you have any tips for aspiring new models in the industry?
TJ: My best advice, don't compete with others. Compete with yourself and don't get discouraged.
SKYN: Great words. What are some of your best memories of the past year? TJ: It actually doesn't have to do with modeling at all, the best memories were made with my friends. I've made so many new friends and have my old friends too. They are all so supportive and I have a strong feeling they will be friends for life. Love you guys!! SKYN: Aw, that's so sweet. It seems like quite a bit happened to you this year, what were some of the biggest revelations that you had?
TJ: There was a drastic change in my life last year. I became single and I had to learn how to do a lot of stuff on my own. I became an independent woman. Honestly, I can say it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I learned how to love myself, pay for all my stuff, balance friendships and family better and to not settle. I'm still friends with my ex, because I believe in rising above. I don't like drama and I wish the best for him. I believe that everyone should find happiness.
SKYN: That's incredibly admirable, and truthfully so wise. What about when it comes to 2016, any goals?
TJ: My main goal is to be the best me that I can be. I try to make every year better than the last and as of now i'm not disappointed.
SKYN: Fair enough indeed. Lastly, when it's all over what do you want to be remembered as?
TJ: I want to be remembered as that woman who killed it, who inspired others, who had her own business and hopefully achieved that "American Dream".
