Kate Upton Takes Over Sports Illustrated for a Third Time
By: Amanda Cubello
Take a look at the latest SI 2017 swimsuit issue and see why 'America's favorite blonde' lands her third cover for the sports magazine.
Miss Kate does it again and there's no denying her rightful place. She's one of four women that have been granted the opportunity to be on the cover three times -- one of them including Christie Brinkley, who is also featured in the issue alongside her two daughters.
But one front page photo isn't enough for the 24 y/o goddess. For the first time in Sports Illustrated history, Upton sizzles in not one, not two, but three separate covers for one issue.
Because one just wouldn't do for the blonde bombshell we know and love.
If you have any questions as to why she's the queen of SI, these photos should help to answer those. According to SI Swimsuit Editor MJ Day, having three covers was purely accidental. The sexual charm of Upton made it all possible.
"That’s a testament to the power of Kate and what she’s done and how she’s changed the perception of beauty and the doors she’s opened for other people in the industry," MJ Day said.
She became the trailblazer for body confidence in 2011 when she was named Rookie of the Year by SI when she was only 18 years-old. Soon after, she became a house-hold name and scored back-to-back swimsuit covers in 2012 and 2013.
Her authenticity is not only alluring but inspiring. Her curves are unapologetically taking over the ideal woman image and we are loving everything about it. Thanks Kate for being the sexiest voice for real women around the world. We salute you.
