1. What inspired you to get into this industry?
I’ve always loved photography and the ability to capture moments.
2. How long have you been modeling?
Since the fun and carefree age of 15.
3. Who is your favorite model?
My cat Meow. He’s a natural.
4. Were you always comfortable in your own skin and in front of the camera?
I suppose so. There’s definitely been some occasions where I’ve done things that weren’t always as easy or natural for me to grasps. Shooting sexy things has always been easy, but poses for high fashion and editorial projects is something I’m still getting the hang of. The way you position your body to look sexy verse show off a fashion item is completely different. I’m also horrible at walking in heels, which I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ll never get better at. In-motion walking shots or videos are always a goofy-looking nightmare adventure. Runways are out of the question.
5. Did you have any mentors who really helped mold and guide you?
I think my biggest mentor has been my own life experiences through trial and error. Also, a guide who has helped me with something as silly, yet important as walking, is one of my photographer friends Twist. We’ve shot many in-motion fashion things together and he’s the first person to show me that the way you walk in those type of shots is completely different than how you would walk normally.
6. Do you have any tips for aspiring models in the industry?
If you want to do it, just do it. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t. Confidence and not giving up will take you a long way. Be passionate and put your heart into it. Modeling needs to be something you genuinely enjoy doing and not something you’re not just after for a paycheck. Don’t get discouraged when something doesn’t work out because there will be plenty of times where it doesn’t. Not everything will workout or happen the way you want it to. That’s life.
7. Do you have a WTF moment at a shoot?
I have a WTF moment at every single shoot. Basically every day of my life encompasses WTF moments.
8. What are some of the biggest revelations you've discovered through modelling?
Everything that glitters ain’t gold!!
9. Tell us something random about yourself.
I’m actually a very shy, introverted person who doesn’t like attention in real life. Don’t let my large social following and barely clothed pictures fool you. In real life, I normally wear oversized men's clothing, hoodies, sweatpants, and no makeup. I barely own any makeup. I don’t know how to do it myself.
10. What are you most proud of?
My new online store that’ll be launching in couple weeks. (Bellaleah.com) I built every aspect of this entirely myself from start to finish.
11. When it's all said and done, what do you want to be remembered as?
Me. And that’s it. Who better to be remembered as during your own life than yourself? Be you. And be the best version of yourself that you can be. Otherwise, you’ll just be the second rate version of someone else.
12. Any last words?
My instagram @msfashkilla. Also, I am opening a new online store, Bellaleah.com that has all the perfect attire that models would love to wear. I will be offering significant discounts on merchandise for models who post pictures wearing the items, as well as offering free clothes for girls with large followings who post and tag the store, @shopbellaleah. If any of the models are local in LA, I can also provide wardrobe to rent for shoots. If any of the things mentioned prior are of interest to you, email: firstname.lastname@example.org
