SKYN: Drisana. We over here at SKYN know you as our beautiful, brilliant, and so incredibly driven cover girl for March, but we'd love to know, who do you see yourself as? Who are you?
DS: Every adult in my life has told me being in your 20s is the decade on learning who you are as a person and they are so right. I'm still trying to figure that out. A year ago I was in school with my goal on becoming a dentist and now I'm here modeling. I'm literally all over the place especially when it comes to my actions. I'll say one thing but do something completely different. As for right now I'm totally spontaneous on what I've been doing in my life like traveling as much as possible and skydiving!
SKYN: Ha, skydiving?! That's wild! Ok so not only are you totally stunning but you've got some majors balls! Talk about brave. Must be where some of that confidence comes from that we see in all of your pictures. Were you always comfortable in your own skin and in front of the camera?
DS: Every woman has there own insecurities wether you're in front of the camera or not, but it was actually when I was captured through a lens where I really loved who I was. Getting your hair and make up professionally done and having a great photographer that combination can make you feel so sexy when you're photos are being taken. I just love it. I recommend every woman to take their photos and love the body they are in.
SKYN: We couldn't agree more. Sticking with that train of thought in terms of other women finding themselves in front of the camera, we'd love to know who your favorite model is.
DS: I have two. @jazzzmine.R and @Jessicaburciaga I love the way they carry themselves and their bodies are amazing. They both really inspired me to get into modeling.
SKYN: ... and we're certainly glad they did - you're phenomenal at it! You're so skilled at your art and have been able to work with so many talented people because of it, we're curious, do you have a favourite photographer?
DS: I plead the 5th! I love them all!
SKYN: Ha, fair enough, fair enough. What about mentors? Did you have any mentors who really helped mold and guide you?
DS: In the beginning I would follow all the popular models on their social media studying their work on their poses. Wno they worked them so I can work with the same photographer. Now that my popularity is increasing I'm blessed to actually speak to those in person for advice which is really helping me guide in this industry.
SKYN: Wow - That's incredible! What's that expression about working until your idols become your rivals? Except in this case it's until your idols become your mentors. The ultimate dream! Do you have any tips for aspiring models who would love to live out your dream in this industry?
DS: Yes! Build a strong portfolio, don't shoot with just anyone with a camera. If you have to pay for a photographer to get a good headshot fucking do it. It's not just about who has a big following. You want to get those cooperation checks, not sell tea and protein shakes on your Instagram. Build a bond with people and not be a bitch. The world doesn't revolve around you, it's around me, totally kidding... but seriously, don't be a bitch to people because it will bite you in the ass
SKYN: Wise words Miss Drisana. Ok now that we know all of those pearls of wisdom, tell us something random about yourself.
DS: I'm fucking afraid of dolphins.
SKYN: Ha, wait, actually?! That's wild! Alright, next fun fact. What are you most proud of?
DS: I'm proud of being able to drink tequila with no chaser, I mean that's pretty impressive on its own.
Also I'm learning how to unicycle, once I accomplish that you're going to be me ridimg around dirty in the Boston streets this summer.
SKYN: Gosh you are a jokester aren't you? Ha, well we love it. Let's keep it rolling. What is your favourite food?
DS: Everything. I can literally go on and on about food. I can't cook but I can make reservations! And if you take me on a date I'm warning you ahead of time I'm going to get an appetizer, an entree and dessert. I'm right now obsessed with red velvet cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. Oh my god it's delicious.
SKYN: Sounds like one heck of a delicious date. And we couldn't agree more on the Red Velvet Cheesecake. Absolutely Delicious! Ok, back to serious stuff. What are some of the biggest revelations of the last year?
DS: Don't trust everyone you meet. A lot of people want to ride your back from your success to benefit themselves.
SKYN: Fair enough. What about when it comes to the good stuff. What are some of your best memories of the past year?
DS: I made so many awesome girlfriends last year. We are all modeling. It's awesome to have a group of friends who do the same thing just because we are so supportive and understand the industry more than a normal person.
SKYN: Sounds like a great base for some solid memories for sure. What about when it comes to future memories. What are some of your goals for 2016?
DS: I want to go to Dubai and Japan. #TravelGoals
SKYN: Sounds like a plan! We'd love to join you on those trips. Before we do though, there's just one last thing we want to know. When it's all over what do you want to be remembered as?
DS: The girl who knows how to unicycle.
SKYN: Yuck, yuck, yuck. Funny girl. Well it certainly has been a hilarious pleasure Ms. Drisana. Thanks for chatting with us!
